Build-a-Tech Incubator & Workspace is a hardware technology accelerator with a mission to equip start-ups with cutting-edge resources, tailored mentorship, and practical tools that help innovators build impactful tech products. BASIC JOB FUNCTION:
Design, develop, test, and optimise power and energy systems that support both internal projects (e.g., renewable energy, microgrids, battery systems) and partner products.
CLASSIFICATION: Technical Personnel
JOB TYPE: On-Site / Full-Time
WORK HOURS: SHIFT A: 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM
SHIFT B: 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM
SHIFT C: 10:00 AM – 06:00 PM
Saturday : 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM (1 Saturday / month)
SALARY: ₦100,000 to ₦150,000 Monthly determined by relevant years of experience, qualifications and education
LOCATION: Uyo, Akwa Ibom
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
● Design and simulate electrical and power systems (DC/AC).
● Develop battery management and charging subsystems.
● Analyse energy requirements and perform load calculations.
● Build and test prototypes (solar, hybrid, energy-harvesting systems).
● Work with fabrication teams to integrate power systems into products.
● Troubleshoot electrical and power system performance issues.
● Maintain technical documentation and compliance records.
REQUIRED SKILLS
● Strong understanding of electrical systems (DC, AC, batteries, inverters).
● Experience with power electronics, BMS, and charge controllers.
● Proficiency in schematic capture and simulation tools.
● Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
OPTIONAL
● Experience with renewable energy (solar, wind, hybrid).
● Familiarity with energy monitoring systems or IoT integration.
● Field deployment or commissioning experience.
EDUCATION

It is preferred that applicants possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
