BASIC JOB FUNCTION:
Design, develop, and prototype electronic systems, components, equipment, software and hardware for new and existing projects. Additionally, perform engineering research in support of complex embedded systems and networks.
CLASSIFICATION: Technical Personnel
JOB TYPE: On-Site / Full time
WORK HOURS: Monday to Friday | 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM
Saturday | 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM (1 per month)
SALARY: ₦65,000 to ₦120,000 Monthly
determined by relevant years of experience, qualifications and education
LOCATION: Uyo, Akwa Ibom
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with colleagues to design new systems, circuits and devices or develop existing technology
Test theoretical designs
Use software to perform circuit analysis, run simulations, create schematic drawings and produce wiring diagrams
Write specifications and technical reports
Ensure safety regulations are met
Develop detailed engineering documentation including block diagrams, schematics, fabrication and assembly drawings, component drawings, specifications, manuals and other customer documentation
Design new electronic devices and systems
Operate electronics software to evaluate and improve systems
Conduct research into new software and devices to keep the company at industry standards
Train colleagues on new software
Oversee the creation of new products and document the progress of each project
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability to instruct students, and other lab users
Excellent written verbal and telephonic communication
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent research and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Exhibits appropriate professional behaviour including a positive attitude, sense of urgency, independent judgement, teamwork, creative thinking and personal integrity to achieve department/corporate goals and objectives
Proficient in the use of PC/Mac, Google workspace and business communication channels
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively
In-depth knowledge of circuit design and modelling
Knowledge of how to perform tests on systems and equipment to ensure that every component is working properly.
Practical experience with design software.
Willingness to work overtime if required.
Optional:
Knowledge of or ability to learn how to operate and maintain related equipment in the lab, such as 3D printers, CNC Machines, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, frequency generators, and spectrum/network analyzers, among others
Relevant certifications may be required to prove your proficiency in certain areas.
PREFERED EDUCATION:
Experience and proficiency in the above Duties & Responsibilities and Required Skills sections will be weighed above any educational qualifications. Applicants not possessing the below-listed degree(s) are still encouraged to apply.
It is preferred that candidates possess a B.Sc. in Engineering or a related field.
Optional:
